FAMBLA wants you to vote

The AFA, or the American Family Association... the Association that's for families, because apparently there's a lot of people who are against them or something... reports that the decision from SCOTUS on Prop 8 can come as soon as next week. And obviously they're hoping for a decision to uphold the insertion of bigotry into the constitution of California.

And they want you to vote on their poll:

There's absolutely NOTHING in the wording of this poll to sway your opinion whatsoever. Apparently there's only two choices... to go with what some ancient people, who didn't even know diseases came from microbes and thought they were from demons, said was God's law, or to bring doom upon the entire planet. 

So go figure, on a website directed towards people for family, a poll worded this way is clearly winning against gay marriage. At the last check, only 11.14 people are Jesus-hating heathens who have no heart and don't care at all about the damnation they'll bring from the sulphur raining skies poured upon us from the angels of Revelation from the bowls of judgment.

I wish I had PZ Myers' popularity and sway to get people to storm the poll, but I am just a humble blogger who reaches maybe ten people per post. So instead, I'll simply do what I do best. I'm gonna give you the Asshole's perspective justified directly out of the goddamned Bible itself.

First, as you'll see below, they're arguing that the Supreme Court shouldn't tell them anything at all, even though their job is clearly to interpret the Constitution, not to uphold unconstitutional votes. And if that is the case, they're authorities placed there by... who now?

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

Oh yeah... God put them there! I guess that means God also put Obama there too. No no wait, that's just absurd. Satan put him there. The Bible only applies where they want to think it does.

Hmmmm... such a conundrum. I know! You guys go ahead and follow what you believe but do not know, because you've read it in a book written by human beings rather than heard it yourself God's word, and we'll go ahead and not follow it. And you also go ahead and follow the rules of this great nation of ours that says we should all have our rights. Hate us. That's your right. But your hate has no bearing on the equality of the people you hate.

And that's why we don't vote on who is an equal member of society. Democracy is great, but democracy can also be two wolves and a lamb voting on what's for lunch, as is said. And for times like that, when the majority poses as a tyrant against a minority, we have the Supreme Court.
