#halestorm - a fight to reinstate a great gay teacher

This is the hashtag term you use on Twitter to show your support for Ms. Carla Hale, who was fired for being gay. No let's back up, she was fired after it was found out she was gay. And she was found out because her name appeared in an obituary.

She had lost her partner. Her partner's obituary featured her name. A parent complained and this Catholic school had her promptly fired. Fired. She had to hide even in the most painful moment of her life apparently. Because her love would be swiftly punished by the institution that hid and protected child rapists.

Let that sink in. And if that's not enough for you, this woman I think also nails it on the head, as she commented on this post talking about the Hale firing:

When everyone is rallying to have her job reinstated, it gives you some faith that some people are understanding the concept of love. Too bad the leadership of the church remains "courageously unmoving" when it refuses to do so. But thankfully, for all the crap we give politicians, some do the right thing:

And in all this hell, she gets to see how much she is loved:

Now if only the church itself would. You know, the one that's supposed to be bringing the message of a loving god to the world. Yeah, that one.
